FoursquareFox. Firefox Add-on.

April 8th, 2010

There’s been a lot of talk lately about LBS and especially foursquare.
I posted something a few months back about this so re-check earlier happenings about LBS and Foursquare here.

This new Firefox add-on allows you to add venues, check-in to Foursquare, ping Twitter and Facebook, locate active friends on a map as well as every other Foursquare functionality the service supports.

Credit Card Processing with the iPhone

April 8th, 2010

I think by this point we’ve all heard of some great ways to process credit cards using the iPhone and some apps for small purchases on the go, at a trade show, or on your showroom. Here’s a video from Square… pretty cool.

There is also a free way to accept credit cards using the iPhone as a terminal. Download the TransFS Credit Card Terminal iPhone App. The app is open source, and can be download here http://www.transfs.com/iphone

Google’s FTTH Project in design phase

March 31st, 2010

Google plans to build a new Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) network in the US, capable of delivering speeds of up to 1 Gbps. Pretty cool.

Google posted a map showing the locations of the applications and letters of support – the small dots represent a government response, and a large dot represents locations where more than 1,000 residents submitted a nomination.
