HTML5 and Flash Design

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Stop the hate everyone! Creativity shouldn’t depend on the technology used.
I absolutely love this article by “A List Apart” published over a month ago:
It’s entitled “Flash Standards: The Cold War of the Web”

A List Apart states regarding the debate between design with HTML5 and website design with flash — is that the issue is larger than which one is better. It’s about preference and politics.

Read the entire article it’s a great read — almost 90% of  the way through it they write a part about “people”.  It goes on to say “People matter. Not users, but people. Sunday, March 28th, 2010

We have been designing quite a lot of flash digital advertisements lately, so I have been researching it a bit and I have come across quite a few innovative designs and techniques for designing with flash, page takeovers, rollover and flash video. This one by Apple simply does a great job! A classic synced leaderboard / medium rectangle with a nice flash communication to some speaking heads across the other side of the site.
