Verizon Droid Design vs. iPhone

Friday, October 30th, 2009

People with Verizon service, and those of us who just can’t seem to switch over to AT&T for the iPhone might have something from Verison that rivals the iPhone. It’s called the DROID, it runs Google’s Android and it seems to have everything that the latest iPhone has and more… except for 100,000 apps. (it has about 10,000). It is scheduled to release on November 6th 2009 – and I am excited to see it first hand. It’s tough to tell what the design of it is really like from a picture, but nonetheless the design looks good!

Google’s Social Search

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Google has released it’s social search. So what exactly is this? It is all explained in this video from Google. It’s quite simple, and combines search from Google with your social networks and all the people you are connected with by displaying their posts and reviews right in Google search results. So let’s say I Google web design in New York City, and one of my connections on any of the social networks I am subscribed to has posted something relating to web design in New York then that will show up in my results page.

Google Wave – A cinema experience

Monday, October 19th, 2009

So many people have been creating videos that try and depict what Google Wave can do, some of it’s features and how we will be using it soon… I have been waiting to post about it until I found something that told the story well. And this one gives a bit of a laugh, but also shows it’s capability pretty well (I think ’cause I’ve never seen it)

The Photoshop iPhone App From Adobe

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Adobe has launched a Photoshop iPhone App that gives you some of the simplest and also most powerful tools that people love about Photoshop… and best of all, it’s FREE. It works almost entirely off touch-gestures instead of using dials and sliders .etc like most other apps or indeed the desktop versions of Photoshop.

The app will take a little getting use to with the gestures, but one you do, it’s fast, slick and pretty powerful. Click here to download it from iTunes. (it’s free remember!) Oh, you’ll need a photoshop.com account (also free) which allows you to instantly upload or download photos from your cloud account. Just another one of the great features!
